Hi there! A quick post to get you through the day with lots of…
We all crave this, need this, struggle with this.
Energy!
I work a full-time job, keep a tidy home, workout almost daily, love to cook, and go on adventures. I am also growing this online publication daily.
Yeah, I need energy to do all of that! ✅
I’ve been researching and working on perfecting my own ‘imperfect’ energy recipe for years. It ebbs and flows… As I am getting older, my energy needs are changing. At almost 50, I have noticed some energy shifts, so I’ll shift with it.
The energy recipe that gives me the oomph to get it all done
I try to move constantly. I have a desk job, therefore I must force myself to get up and move. This looks like taking a short walk around the block, jump-box for 2 minutes, squats sets, or lifting weights for a few minutes.
Additionally, I strive to walk every single day in the mornings, afternoons, and sometimes evenings. I can’t get enough of being outside (even in winter).
Eat nutrient-dense foods. I always think about what to eat to increase my energy levels. This means eating foods that will fuel me, not deplete me (aka processed foods, sugar, etc)
I try to eat plenty of protein, fiber, healthy carbs, healthy fats, and veggies.
Hydrate! 8-11 cups of water every damn day. Yes… it makes me run to the bathroom more often, but so worth the energy high of staying hydrated.
As mentioned above, I keep sugar at a minimum.
Sleep! If I don’t get my 7-8 hours of sleep, you’ll find me moody and not at all motivated.
Low stress is key for my energy levels. I know that some days the stress might be unavoidable, but I also know that most days I can do things to mitigate stress. I find that meditation, manifesting, journaling, and exercise are my stress mitigators. When I fall short on those beautiful practices, stress starts to creep into my days, which turns my energy into mush.
These are tried and true practices that give me optimal energy on most days. I’m realistic. Not every day will be perfectly jazzed with energy, and that is OK. I do my very best to provide my body with the energy to do the things that bring me financial security, joy, and plenty of fun!

Cheers to high energy today!
